About the Teacher
Meet Juan Carlos Cera
We don’t stop playing because we grow old.
We grow old because we stop playing.
George Bernard Shaw
As a primary education teacher trained at the International University of La Rioja (Spain), Juan Carlos has developed a unique method to help children learn English as a foreign language — while also supporting their parents so their children can get the most out of their foreign language education.
Juan Carlos knows firsthand what it means to learn and operate in a new language. Before becoming a teacher, he completed his studies in Information Technology Engineering at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm (Sweden), while learning Swedish at the same time. This experience led him to develop a methodology to help himself — and other students — learn a foreign language and successfully achieve their academic goals.
Teaching has always been a part of Juan Carlos’s career. Whether he's training international teams on software, business strategies, or marketing campaigns, or helping children of all ages with their studies, his intuitive and down-to-earth nature — along with his ability to explain even the most complex concepts — in creative ways, keeps both children and adults engaged and learning.
Juan Carlos has lived in Sweden, Canada, Ireland, and Spain. In the 2025/26 school year, he is happy to be able to work at CEIP Manuel Pérez in Bollullos Par del Condado (Huelva), Spain.
